You might have caught the buzz on social media about Trenton, our Bolder Options youth who testified before the House Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Finance Committee last Thursday. He was part of a lobbying effort by YIPA (the Youth Intervention Programs Association) to encourage the legislature to double funding for youth intervention.
Check out the full story about Trenton’s visit to the Capitol and YIPA’s work HERE, The article mentioned, “… of the approximately 1.8 million Minnesotans between the ages of 5 and 19, an estimated 300,000 are considered at-risk. He said that 90 percent of intervention program participants do better in school, remain law-abiding and have an overall pro-social attitude.”
Trenton’s own outlook would likely not have been so positive if a mentor hadn’t stepped up. Thank you Travis, for helping Trenton become the best young man he can be!
