Youth Health & Wellness Programs

Health and wellness are at the core of Bolder Options’ yogaprogramming. Mentor/mentee pairs are educated on health and wellness topics throughout their year together to promote healthy habits and increase knowledge about what it means to be healthy. Wellness check-ins are offered weekly at our Minneapolis and St. Paul locations, and pairs complete a one mile running test at the beginning and end of their time together in order to assess improvement. Pairs also participate in at least three 5k runs or three 10-mile or longer biking events over the course of the year. By using physical activity as a vehicle, we are able to increase self-esteem, introduce the power of goal-setting, and help youth achieve things they didn’t think they could.

Our Health & Wellness Coordinator facilitates on-site after school programming for groups of middle school youth in St. Paul teaching 45 minute lessons about what it means to be healthy (oral hygiene, nutrition, social, and emotional health) and then leads students through a 45 minute group work out or physical activity.
