Bolder V3 Triathlon Training

Tri Harder – Tri Stronger – Tri Bolder

V3 started in North Minneapolis back in 2006 to engage school-aged youth in a healthy, competitive lifestyle program. It offers performance training and race participation to youth residing in Minneapolis, ages
7–18. The goal of the program is to promote fun, skill development, life-skills, a sense of “team”, and an understanding of endurance sports.

The program was named “Victory in Three” (V3) because of its focus on the following: character, commitment, and community– (the Three C’s) — and leadership, learning, and life-experience — (the Three L’s). The “V3” symbolizes the victories in life a youth can strive for by working towards these essential goals. In 2012, Bolder Options acquired the V3 initiative and the program was renamed Bolder V3.

The performance training done by the youth in the program helps to develop coordination, basic motor skills, proper technique and injury prevention. The team environment helps to foster a sense of community and the need to support each other. Bolder Options staff and volunteer coaches work with the youth to get them ready to race in triathlons over the summer, set goals, and learn that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to completing.
